Colville Hall Barn Wedding - Anna & Matt
Intimate rustic wedding with a little bit of rain at Colville Hall, Essex.
Anna and Matt got married at the awesome Colville Hall, Chelmsford, a few weeks ago. It was a wonderful wedding, with ivy everywhere and giant balloons on the tables. Check out their preview below!
Bridal prep
Anna got ready at the Radisson Blu at Stanstead with her bridesmaids, and there was such a relaxed vibe. From the moment I arrived I was treated as one of the gang and there wasn't a moment where I wasn't smiling and laughing with the girls. She wore a beautiful slightly off the shoulder dress, a beautiful veil and the most comfortable shoes ever, and looked so stunning. The girls then hopped into a taxi to get to the ceremony.
The serious part
The ceremony took place in the Orchard barn at the venue. The ceremony area was really cosy, which was so perfect, because it was an intimate wedding. The ceremony began with several beautiful readings from friends and family, and finished with a sweeping first kiss. It was a romantic ceremony, full of excited hand squeezes and so much love.
After the ceremony, the couple mingled with their guests, which was really chilled out. Then we took some time out for photos, which was so much fun. I got some really special couples photos outdoors – whilst we took advantage of a break in the weather. The weather was a bit rainy, but that didn’t bother them at all.
The reception
Anna and Matt chose to have their wedding at Colville Hall because it’s so cosy and relaxed, and it was so close to Stanstead airport and as Annas family are Czech and friends flying in, it was a perfect location . Colville Hall is an new Essex barn venue, and it’s got such a romantic feel to it, especially in the Mill Pond barn where the room is full of people having a great party.
For the reception, the couple had organised giant jenga for their guests, and everyone had so much fun – even if they did have to move them inside! As they couldn't have confetti at the venue they opted for bubbles which made for an EPIC photo and awesome procession for the meal. Everyone was then called in for dinner, which was proper wedding grub. It was absolutely delicious. They had speeches during the courses, which were really touching – The bridesmaids had a recipe book made where each guest had submitted a selfie and one of their favourite recipes which was such a cool personal touch and something I hadn't seen before!
The evening
After the meal was finished, guests played in the photobooth, and the dancefloor was packed all night. The DJ played all the best songs to get everyone dancing. They did a proper waltz which was super impressive and magical to watch.
I loved this Intimate rustic wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for an Essex wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!
