RELAXED ALTERNATIVE WEDDING AT TUDOR BARN IN ELTHAM – KIRSTY & JOE

A SUPER LAID BACK, NON TRADITIONAL ALTERNATIVE WEDDING

Kirsty and Joe got married at the gorgeous Tudor Barn, Eltham, in August. It was a brilliant summery wedding, with tarot cards on the tables and homemade paper cranes creating an awesome photobooth backdrop.

Getting ready

Kirsty got ready at the Raddison Blu, Poplar with her mum and bridesmaid Amy, and there was such an exciting vibe. She wore a beautifully fitted dress, and looked so gorgeous. The girls then took an old vintage cab to get to the ceremony. When we arrived at Tudor Barn, the guests were ushered in leaving Kirsty & Joe to do a first look outside which was such a lovely moment to photograph.

The serious part

The ceremony took place in a beautiful room at Tudor Barn. The ceremony area was really cosy, which was so perfect, because it was an intimate wedding. The ceremony began with With Kirsty & Joe walking down the aisle together, and finished with a big cheer from everyone. It was a romantic ceremony, full of lots of laughter and so much love.

After the ceremony, we lined everyone up outside ready for the confetti line, which was epic! Then I left the couple to mingle, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. I got some really special candid photos as they enjoyed the afternoon – We then took a walk around the park behind the garden to take some couple photos, this is one of my favourite parts of the day as we get to hang out and have some fun, it also gives you 20 minutes away from your guests to spend time together. The weather was so sunny, it was a beautiful day.

The reception

Kirsty and Joe chose to have their wedding at Tudor Barn because it’s so cosy and relaxed, and the food is incredible. I really felt like one of the gang as they kindly say myself and Lucie (my awesome second shooter) at the tables with guests. Tudor Barn is an understated restaurant, and it’s got such a rustic feel to it, especially in the main room when the candles and fairy lights are glowing.

The evening

After the meal was finished, the light outside was perfectly golden so we headed outside to take some more portraits, we even saw a heron by the pond and took a little break to sit on a bench and have a chat! I love that I get to become friends with the couples I photograph and just feel like we're all hanging out together.
