QUIRKY COLOURFUL FIESTA AT THE ROUND CHAPEL, HACKNEY – KAT AND COLIN

A MEXICAN INSPIRED FIESTA WITH PINATAS, TACOS AND FLOWER CROWNS!

When Kat and Colin first got in touch with me about their Mexican inspired fiesta wedding in Hackney, I was so excited – they were planning such a fun and laid back wedding with lots of colour, a piñata and even a mariachi band. Kat and Colin are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

The wedding

The wedding took place at the Round Chapel in Hackney, and was a quirky dry hire venue. Being a dry hire venue meant they could decorate the venue exactly how they wanted and were able to pick the suppliers they wanted without a venue dictating. This really helped for their relaxed day. For the ceremony itself they had personal vows they wrote themselves, which was so unique. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then the couple danced back down the aisle together. to the sound of a mariachi band that surprised all the guests!

After the ceremony

The wedding reception took place in the same area as the ceremony, which was decorated so colourfully! The couple had Devine Bride set up and ordinate the day which meant everything not only looked amazing but ran super smoothly! Kat and Colin got engaged in Mexico so wanted the theme to carry on through the wedding itself but were very careful not to go down the day of the dead route. It was really unique quirky and mega colourful!

It was a super rainy day, which wasn’t what we had planned but luckily didn’t put a dampener on moods. While the guests hung around drinking Prosecco, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. Theres plenty of back stairwells and balcony space which meant we could get lots of photos still without guests distracting, or photobombing! My favourite photo from our couples session is this photo of them both on the stairwell, having the best time and laughing mega hard!

During the reception they the marachi band playing, which went down a storm. For the meal they had a taco van, and it was loved by all the guests. After dinner they had some wonderful speeches, then the couple cut the wedding cake and the party got started. They also had a pinata, which was so entertaining. With the couple and their guests all took turns to try and knock down!
