Outdoor festival wedding venues - Essex
How to plan your festival wedding - Outdoor Essex venues
If theres one thing I like it’s a super bright and colourful festival wedding in the great outdoors, and if it’s in Essex even better! (I do love a short drive home) So I thought I’d compile a list of some of my favourite venues for you to look at and consider!
1. Tey Brook Orchard, Great Tey - Browning Bros
Tey Brook Orchard is nestled in Great Tey and surrounded by lush countryside and woodland! Not only does it have a beautiful marquee AND a stretch tent set up already for you outside, it has a beautiful clearing amongst the trees, perfect for an outdoor woodland ceremony. It also has it’s own kitchen space and an outside pizza oven, so if you’re going down the DIY route there’s plenty of space to keep your beers chilled and your pizza cooking in the evening! It also has plenty of camping options for your guests, so rather than book taxis you can continue the party with everyone stumbling back to their tent/hut in their own time.
2. Chalkney Water Meadows, Browning Bros
If a woodland ceremony isn’t what you want, but an epic tipi and lakeside ceremony is then Tey Brooks sister site Chalkney Water Meadows may be the perfect venue for you. CWM comes with a tipi already for you to dress to suit your theme and has a wooden platform ready for your ceremony to take place. Theres plenty of bell tents for your guests to hire and a cabin for you and your wedding party to get ready in. Guests enter from the car park and walk amongst the trees around the lake, catching a glimpse of the tipi as they go until they get to the end and are greeted with an awesome outdoor festival extravaganza!
3. Captains Wood Barn, Great Totham
If you love the idea of an outside ceremony but want a beautiful rustic barn, then Captains Wood Barn is THE venue for you! It’s a dry hire venue, so you aren’t told what caterers, bar, DJ etc you can have, you can literally decorate it how you like. Whilst it’s a barn thats been converted so that it can adapt to hosting weddings, it’s still kept its industrial and rustic charm, rather than looking super modern like some of the barns in Essex. It has really magical woodland area with benches ready for an outside ceremony, and whats more you get to have a tractor or trap and pony ride to your ceremony too!
Stay tuned for part 2 where I’ll be linking to all my favourite suppliers you need if you’re planning a really relaxed & fun wedding in Essex, particularly if it’s got a festival vibe with good food, tunes and glitter!
