FUN BREWERY WEDDING AT GOODY ALES IN HERNE BAY – EMMA & JIM
IF YOU LOVE FUN THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS BREWERY WEDDING!
Emma and Jim got married at the unusual Goody Ales, Herne Bay, in August. It was a crazy marquee wedding, with plenty of beer on the tables and Morris dancers everywhere.
The excitement before the wedding
Emma got ready at home with her bridesmaids, and there was such an exciting vibe. The wedding party then rode the short trip to get to the ceremony.
The ceremony took place at a beautiful church in Cuxton. The ceremony area was a beautiful room, which was perfect for the surroundings, because it was a beautiful sunny day. The ceremony began with a beautiful reading, and finished with a big cheer from everyone. It was a romantic ceremony, full of private smiles and so much love.
After the ceremony, we travelled to the reception, which is such a great time for the newly married couple to have some time to let it sink in. Then all the guests made a beeline for the bar, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. I got some really fun couples photos inside the brewery amongst the barrels – We also took a wander to the back of the field where there were some beautiful trees, ferns and gorgeous light! The weather was all sunshine and blue skies, it was a stunning day.
The afternoon
Emma and Jim chose to have their wedding at Goody Ales because they love a good ale and attend lots of festivals there, and they could have the place for the whole weekend. Goody Ales is an understated brewery with plenty of land perfect for a marquee and camping, and it’s got such a rustic vibe, especially in the evenings when the the lights go down.
For the reception, the couple had set up plenty of local ales for their guests, and everyone had a blast. Everyone was then called in for food, which was an afternoon tea. It was gobbled down in seconds by everyone. They had speeches after the meal, which were so funny – Emmas dad had a water pistol and threatened to use it every time he started to well up! He also did a register and called out surnames so everyone had to jump up, wave and say here Geoff.
The evening
After the speeches, Dead Horse Morris kicked off the evening entertainment, and the party got started. Everyone crowded around to watch, and guests were then invited to join in, even the youngest guests joined in with twigs (so cute!) The live band kept the party going all night. They had a barn dance which was so awesome as it got everyone up dancing, joining in and moving around the dancefloor.
I loved this brewery wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a fun wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!
Also a huge shout out to my awesome second shooter, Chloe, for helping out with this one!
